When Microsoft end support for their products, such as operating systems like Windows 10, it means
1. No more updates – this includes patches and security updates
2. Your device, over time, will become vulnerable
3. No more bug fixes, so if anything breaks, Microsoft will not repair it
4. No customer support – Microsoft will not help with issues relating to Windows 10
Your device, when Windows 10 ends, will not suddenly stop working, but will become unsafe for hackers and criminals to access your data.
Microsoft will end support for Windows 10 on 14th October 2025. They are doing this so everyone can upgrade to their new system or have to buy a new device to enhance protection and resources, allowing a newer feel and more powerful services, and allowing people to experience new technologies.
1.. Upgrade to Windows 11
• The best long-term solution.
• It’s faster, more secure, and supported for many more years.
• You may need a newer device, or check if your current PC is compatible.
2. Buy a New PC with Windows 11
• New devices come with Windows 11 already installed.
• Often, the easiest and most secure option is if your current computer is older.
3. Stay on Windows 10 (not recommended)
• You can still use your computer, but it won’t be safe after 2025.
• Not advised unless you have strong security and don’t use it online.
4. Extended Security Updates (for businesses)
• Microsoft offers paid updates beyond 2025, but mostly for companies.
• Not ideal for home users, and can be expensive.
1. Click Start > type PC Health Check and open it.
2. Follow the prompts to see if your PC is compatible with Windows 11.
Upgrades matter because your data could be hacked or stolen by hackers, and this could be dangerous as they could get hold of your passwords, files, bank details, photos and other confidential data you may have.
Some people tired to upgrade their windows 11 by watching videos and have not been successful as unlike other operating systems windows 11 requires your PC to have certain settings and registry keys enabled and some people have tried to amend these and try to overcome these to get windows 11 installed but have failed and have ruined their device costing them more.
